Sindh Home Minister visited the Command & Control Centre at the CPO Karachi: Reviews law & order across city

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar on Friday visited the Command and Control Centre at the Central Police Office Karachi and held a detailed review of the overall law and order situation across the city on the occasion of Ashura.

On this occasion, Inspector General of Police Sindh Javaid Alam Odho, Additional IG Karachi Range, and other senior police officers were also present.

The IGP Sindh briefed the Sindh Home Minister in detail from the Command and Control Centre on CCTV and Safe City camera surveillance, police monitoring, processions, majalis, sensitive locations, and overall security measures.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sindh Home Minister said that an immediate, effective, and coordinated response must be ensured in any emergency situation.

He said that unhindered coordination must be maintained at all times between all district police, Special Branch, Traffic Police, Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies.

He appreciated that the cooperation of the police, Rangers, other law enforcement agencies, procession organizers, and citizens in ensuring the peaceful observance of Ashura-e-Muharram is highly commendable.

All security arrangements must remain fully active, effective, and on high alert until the conclusion of the processions and the safe return of the mourners, said Zia-ul-Hasan Lanjar.

The IG Sindh told the Sindh Home Minister that all field officers and personnel of the Sindh Police are implementing the Ashura security plan with utmost responsibility, diligence, and professionalism.

He said that real-time monitoring of sensitive locations, main processions, and majalis across the province is underway from the Command and Control Centre, while all units remain in continuous contact with one another.

The Sindh Police will remain on high alert until the processions conclude and the mourners return safely, and all available resources are being mobilized to handle any untoward situation, Javaid Alam Odho said.
