Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Monday handed over ownership documents to residents of unplanned settlements in Hyderabad besides also performing computerized balloting of over4,000 plots of Gulistan-e-Sarmast housing scheme

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Feb, 2026) Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Monday handed over ownership documents to residents of unplanned settlements in Hyderabad besides also performing computerized balloting of over4,000 plots of Gulistan-e-Sarmast housing scheme.

Speaking at the first event in the premises of the Sindh Katchi Abadi Authority's office, Shah said providing residential units to the people was one of the crucial manifestos of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).

Referring to the Sindh Peoples Housing for Flood Affectees initiative, he reiterated that 2.1 million houses were being constructed across the province as a manifestation of his party's resolve to provide homes to homeless and affected people.

He told that at the ceremony ownership documents were handed over to the people of the unplanned settlements who had been dwelling there for a long period of time. He instructed all the relevant government departments to ensure that all residents Commenting on the development projects which were being undertaken in Hyderabad, the minister said the schemes of new roads, improved water supply and drainage schemes were being completed in the city.

The Sindh Minister for Irrigation Jam Khan Shoro, CM's Special Assistant Abdul Jabbar Khan, Mayor Kashif Ali Shoro, the authority's Chairman Syed Najam-e-Alam and Deputy Mayor Sagheer Qureshi were present on the occasion.

The LG minister later performed the balloting of plots at the Mayor's secretariat for the prospective allotees of the flagship housing scheme of Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) under stage IV of the balloting which was overdue for 5 years.

The Director General HDA Afshan Rubab briefed the minister that 4,085 plots of different dimensions underwent balloting.

According to her, the HDA expected an income of over Rs2.6 billion from those plots.

The minister said the DG HDA was tasked to complete that flagship project of over 33,000 plots at the earliest in order to provide much required housing facilities to the citizens of Hyderabad.

He also acknowledged Shoro for his endeavours to develop the city.The Mayor expressed gratitude to the LG minister for spending a whole day in Hyderabad to inaugurate a water lagoon, handover ownership documents and to perform the balloting.

Shoro said the balloting would not only provide plots for residential purposes in the HDA's low cost housing scheme to the people but it would also generate revenue for the authority.
