PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The City police arrested a six members gang allegedly involved in mobile snatching and street crimes in Hayatabad on Monday.
According to a police statement, the action was taken by Hayatabad police station during a search operation, arresting a six-member gang involved in serious crimes, mobile snatching and recovered stolen valuables from their possession.
The crackdown against gangs involved in motorcycle theft, and other serious offenses intensified across the district.
During this operation, on the instructions of SP cantonment division Abdullah Ahsan, and under the supervision of SDPO Hayatabad Circle Muhammad Junaid Kharl, SHO Hayatabad Police Station Kamran Marwat conducted a successful raid.
The arrested accused identified as Shoaib, Asad, Muhammad Toray, Ismail, Daniyal, Syed Rehman, and Aftab. The suspects belong to neighboring Afghanistan besides Punjab, and various areas of Peshawar.
The accused were involved in motorcycle theft and mobile phone snatching incidents in different areas and markets of Peshawar. Senior officials had taken strict notice of these incidents and formed a special team to trace and arrest those involved.
The arrested suspects were also involved in selling stolen motorcycles in the form of spare parts at low prices. From their possession, police recovered 435,000 rupees in cash obtained from selling stolen motorcycles, eight valuable snatched mobile phones, and four stolen motorcycles.
