Six militants killed in CTD and police operation in Kohat

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) At least six militants were killed during a joint operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and Kohat Police in the limits of Lachi Police Station.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, Shehbaz Elahi on Sunday, security forces received intelligence reports about the presence of militants in different areas of Lachi who were allegedly planning a major attack.

Acting on the information, a heavy contingent of CTD and police launched a joint search and strike operation in the area. As soon as the militants saw the security personnel, they opened fire.

Police and CTD personnel responded with retaliatory fire, resulting in the killing of six militants. Weapons were recovered from their possession.

The area has been completely cordoned off and a search operation conducted for clearance.
