At least 16 kidnappings reported in the district in the past six weeks

Kotri and surrounding areas of District Jamshoro have witnessed another wave of alleged abductions, with six women — including one Hindu woman — reported missing. This brings the total number of women abducted in the past six weeks to 16. Disturbingly, one of the victims was subjected to sexual assault and brutal violence before being killed. According to reports, 40-year-old Kewki was abducted from Kotri, with her husband Arjun Das filing a case at Kotri police station. In another incident, 24-year-old Muqaddas, wife of Riaz Baloch, was taken from Bachal Shah Colony. Her mother, Lali, lodged the complaint. From Bhan, 16-year-old Reema was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified men, with her father Allah Rakhio Solangi registering the case. Meanwhile, Hassan Jamali of Abdullah Chawla Goth reported the abduction of his sisters — 40-year-old Zeenat and 30-year-old Reshma — naming their husbands and others in the FIR. In yet another case, 11-year-old Khushboo Lashari was abducted from Yousuf Khosa Goth in Jamshoro. Police records show that since the beginning of the year, 16 women have been abducted across Jamshoro district. These include: 21-year-old Asia, wife of Irfan Ali Khaskheli, and 17-year-old Romana Mallah from Jamshoro; 20-year-old Resham, wife of Sajjad Ali Chandio, and 16-year-old Mandam Shahani from Kotri; and from Sehwan, 25-year-old Amna, 20-year-old Waheeda, 22-year-old Soni, 25-year-old Naumana, and 30-year-old Sameena. All cases are currently under trial in local courts.
