Smart lockdown policy enforced in Abbottabad to conserve energy

ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) In line with the provincial government’s energy conservation measures, the smart lockdown policy is being strictly implemented in the district under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Sarmad Saleem Akram.

According to the policy, business centers and shops are being closed at 9:00 PM, while restaurants, cafés, and other food outlets are required to shut down by 10:00 PM, with active cooperation from the trader community.

To ensure compliance, Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Afrasiab Zubair Hundal, Additional Assistant Commissioner Kamran Ali Shah, and Additional Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Tariq conducted inspections across markets along with their teams.

The officials monitored market closures and ensured the enforcement of government instructions regarding the timely shutdown of commercial activities. Shops were closed by 9:00 PM and restaurants and hotels by 10:00 PM as directed.

Authorities stated that strict action was taken against violations, with several shops and restaurants sealed and police notices issued to ensure compliance with the smart lockdown regulations.
