SMC participants visit KPRA headquarters

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) Participants of the 1st Senior Management Course (SMC), currently underway at the Provincial Services academy (PSA), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) headquarters as part of their local field study programme.

The delegation comprised senior officers (BPS-19) from the Excise Taxation And Narcotics Control Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who are due for promotion to BPS-20. They were accompanied by the Chief Instructor of the Academy, Mr. Abdul Sattar.

Director General KPRA, Miss Irum Naz, warmly welcomed the participants and underscored the importance of such field visits in enhancing managerial acumen and technical capabilities of senior officers.

On the occasion, Collector Sales Tax on Services KPRA, Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the institutional framework, operational domain, and performance of KPRA since its inception.

He also highlighted the evolution of Sales Tax on Services in Pakistan and its subsequent devolution to the provinces, while emphasizing key reforms undertaken by KPRA, particularly the digitization of core functions.

An interactive session followed, during which participants engaged in a constructive dialogue on KPRA’s initiatives and operational strategies.

Mr. Muhammad Abbas Khan appreciated the initiative of the Provincial Services Academy and commended Mr. Abdul Sattar for organizing the first-ever Senior Management Course for officers in the province.

Mr. Abdul Sattar lauded KPRA’s progressive initiatives aimed at enhancing tax collection, promoting tax culture, and contributing to the documentation of the economy.

At the conclusion of the briefing, Director General KPRA, Miss Irum Naz, thanked the faculty members and course participants for their visit and appreciated the Academy’s initiative. She reaffirmed KPRA’s commitment to extending full support for such innovative and capacity-building engagements in the future.

The visit formed part of the Academy’s 12-week training programme aimed at broadening institutional understanding and strengthening public service delivery.
