Snakebite, drowning tragedy claim two young lives in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Apr, 2026) Two separate tragic incidents claimed the lives of two children, highlighting concerns over safety and preventive measures in the area.

In the first incident, a 13-year-old girl lost her life after being bitten by a snake while she was asleep at her home in Bandkorai area.

According to family members, the girl was resting on a traditional bed (Charpai) when the snake attacked her during the night. She died on the spot.

The local residents have urged the authorities concerned to take immediate steps, including improved sanitation, clearing of bushes, and other precautionary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

In a separate incident, the body of a nine-year-old boy was recovered from the CRBC canal near Garah Hayat. Local residents spotted the child’s body floating in the water and promptly retrieved it. The police were reached the scene after being informed by local people to initiate legal proceedings.

The identity of the deceased boy remains unknown, however the efforts are underway for the purpose.
