MULTAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Apr, 2026) Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Tuesday intensified its crackdown against gas theft,illegal usage and technical violations,disconnecting five more meters during operations in different parts of the city.
According to officials,the UFG Control Task Force inspected 60 locations in a bid to ensure smooth and uninterrupted gas supply.
During the search operation,three previously removed meters were recovered from consumers,while two others were disconnected for using compressors to illegally obtain gas.
SNGPL authorities said the drive aims to curb theft, improve gas pressure and promptly address consumer complaints.
They added that illegal practices not only disrupt system performance but also pose serious safety risks.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager SNGPL Multan said consumer safety remains the organization’s top priority.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and check for gas leaks before use, advising that in case of gas smell,doors and windows should be opened immediately while avoiding the use of electrical appliances.
He further reiterated that indiscriminate action against gas theft and violations will continue to ensure safe,reliable and uninterrupted gas supply.
