SNGPL disconnects 17 gas meters in Multan

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Apr, 2026) The UFG Control Task Force of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL),disconnected connections of 17 gas meters over violations in the city, SNGPL Multan officials said on Thursday.

Acting on the directions of the General Manager, the task force checked 75 locations, as it intensified its operations against gas theft, illegal usage, and technical violations in various areas of Multan.

The latest crackdown resulted in the disconnection of 17 gas meters, officials said and adding that a dozen meters were disconnected due to the use of gas compressors, while five meters were found shifted from their original approved locations, leading to their disconnection for breaching technical rules.

Officials said the objective of these operations was not only to curb gas theft but also to improve gas pressure, ensure uninterrupted supply to legitimate consumers, and address public complaints.
