MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has intensified its crackdown against gas theft, illegal usage, and technical violations, disconnecting seven additional gas meters in Multan.
The UFG Control Task Force carried out targeted operations across multiple areas of the city to ensure a safe and uninterrupted gas supply to consumers. During the latest drive, a total of 60 locations were inspected.
According to officials, one previously removed meter was recovered from a consumer, while six others were disconnected due to the illegal use of compressors to obtain gas, a clear violation of regulations.
SNGPL stated that the purpose of these operations is not only to curb gas theft but also to improve gas pressure, ensure consistent supply, and address public complaints efficiently.
Officials emphasized that such illegal practices negatively impact system performance and pose serious safety hazards.
Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager SNGPL Multan said that the safety of consumers’ lives and property remains the organization’s top priority. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and check for gas leaks before use. In case of gas smell, consumers should immediately open doors and windows and avoid switching on gas or electrical appliances.
He further reiterated that indiscriminate action against gas theft and illegal activities will continue to ensure the provision of safe, reliable, and uninterrupted gas supply to all consumers.
