South African delegation visits SCCI to boost trade ties

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Pierre Jordaan, Acting High Commissioner of South Africa in Pakistan, accompanied by Lester Bouah, Chief Director: Investment Mobilisation, and Brian Witbooi, Counsellor at the South African High Commission, paid a visit to the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI).

Upon their arrival, the distinguished guests were warmly received by a leadership team from the SCCI, including Syed Ahtesham Mazhar (President SCCI), Mohammad Murad Arshad (Senior Vice President), Salman Majeed Sheikh (Vice President) SCCI and executive members SCCI.

During the meeting, both sides held productive discussions on strengthening trade and investment relations, promoting business-to-business partnerships, and identifying new avenues for economic collaboration. Special emphasis was placed on expanding commercial linkages between South African businesses and Sialkot’s dynamic export-oriented industries, which are renowned worldwide for their contributions to the sports goods, surgical instruments, leather products, and manufacturing sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives from both sides underscored the importance of fostering closer economic ties and enhancing cooperation to unlock new opportunities for trade and investment. Both sides expressed optimism about future collaboration and agreed to explore practical measures for strengthening commercial and investment partnerships.
