The SPA organized the rally under the banner “Our Workers, Our Heroes” and it commenced from SPA office, culminating at District Council Chowk. A large number of operational staff, officers and sanitation workers participated, reflecting strong institutional recognition of their contributions.

Addressing the participants, Abid Hussain Bhatti said that sanitation workers were a vital asset whose tireless efforts ensured cleanliness across the district. “The visible improvement in urban sanitation is a direct result of their hard work and dedication”, he said, adding that the Suthra Punjab initiative placed special emphasis on the well-being, safety and dignity of frontline workers.

He said that practical measures were being taken to improve working conditions, enhance service delivery standards and provide better facilities to sanitation staff. “A clean city is only possible when those responsible for maintaining it are supported, respected and empowered”, he added.

During rally, sanitation awareness teams of the agency also engaged with citizens, urging them to play their role in maintaining a neat and clean environment. The participants distributed awareness messages emphasizing that cleanliness was a collective responsibility requiring cooperation between authorities and the public. They said that the event aimed not only to acknowledge the services of sanitation workers but also to strengthen community participation in cleanliness drives. They stressed that sustained public awareness, combined with improved municipal services, would help achieve long-term environmental and public health goals.
