LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Apr, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has intensified its efforts to transform Nishtar Town into a model area by continuing its zero-waste drive across the area.
Under the directives of Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din, more than 1,500 SPAL workers, 283 operational vehicles and 313 loader rickshaws were deployed in the rural union councils of Nishter Town to ensure proper sanitation and door-to-door waste collection. Waste has been cleared from 22 identified hotspot areas and open plots, including Haloki, Chandray, Kahna Nau, Gajumata and Bedian Road.
Heavy machinery was also used for waste removal from Ashiana Road, Aiwan Market, Kacha Jail Road and Chungi Amar Sidhu.
Meanwhile, waste container clearance and manual sweeping operations were completed in Township, Green Town and Bagrian.
Under the ‘Suthra Punjab’ initiative, all towns are being made zero-waste in phases while field operations are being continuously monitored.
DG Babar Sahib Din urged citizens to cooperate with SPAL workers and report sanitation-related complaints by calling the helpline 1139 or through the agency’s social media platforms.
