SPAL ramps up grand Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness operation

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has intensified its grand Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness operation across the city to maintain uninterrupted sanitation services and ensure a clean environment for citizens ahead of the festival.

Under special cleanliness measures, additional sanitation staff had been deployed at railway stations, bus terminals, lorry adda,and other public rush points to facilitate passengers travelling to their hometowns for Eid celebrations, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, sanitation workers remained active in all three shifts in 197 commercial markets across Lahore to ensure timely waste clearance.

SPAL’s loader rickshaws also remained present in all union councils of the city for door-to-door waste collection.

Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din said officers, more than 15,000 sanitary workers and over 1,400 vehicles were actively participating in the waste clearance operation in three shifts with the aim of making Lahore a zero-waste city before Eid-ul-Azha.

He said providing citizens with a clean environment and ensuring exemplary sanitation arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha remained the top priority of the department under Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of “Suthra Punjab”.

He added that 100% public complaints related to cleanliness were being addressed on a priority basis.

Citizens were also requested to contact the Suthra Punjab helpline 1139 or use social media platforms for sanitation-related complaints and suggestions.
