Speaker Balochistan Assembly condemns acid attack on female doctor

QUETTA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th Jun, 2026) Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly Abdul Khaliq Achakzai has expressed deep sorrow and concern over the acid attack on a female doctor at Civil Hospital Quetta, condemning the brutal act in the strongest terms.

In a statement, Abdul Khaliq Achakzai said that an attack on a doctor is not just an assault on an individual but an attack on the entire society and human values. He stressed that such criminal acts are unacceptable in any civilized society and those involved cannot escape the grip of the law.

The Speaker appreciated the swift action of law enforcement agencies immediately after the incident, noting that the protection of citizens and the provision of justice are fundamental responsibilities of the state.

He emphasized that ensuring a safe environment for women, particularly those serving in the healthcare sector, is among the government’s top priorities.

Abdul Khaliq Achakzai extended his best wishes for the speedy and complete recovery of the injured doctor, assuring that the Balochistan Assembly stands firmly with the victim’s family in this difficult time. He added that effective measures will continue against elements who spread violence, extremism, and fear in society.

He further said that all relevant institutions in Balochistan are diligently fulfilling their responsibilities to uphold peace, rule of law, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property, and that public trust will be maintained at all costs.
