KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) The Quaid-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan Memorial Committee, in collaboration with the board of Management of Quaid-e-Azam House Museum, organised a ceremony on Thursday to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
The event, held at Quaid-e-Azam House Museum, paid glowing tribute to the leadership of both countries for playing a defining role in establishing diplomatic relations in May 1951.
Speakers also highlighted the contributions of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Mao Zedong, stating that the founding leaders of the two nations had successfully led their respective political movements for the creation of sovereign and independent states.
Among those who addressed the ceremony were Javed Zia, son of Pakistan’s first envoy to China Professor Ahmed Ali, Urooj Ahmed, Mahfooz-un-Nabi Khan, Haleem Khan Ghori, Anees Sheikh and Kishwar Zehra.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The speakers described Pakistan-China relations as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy and said Liaquat Ali Khan had demonstrated foresight by establishing ties with China at an early stage, laying the foundation for a durable and long-lasting partnership.
They said the relationship between the two countries had strengthened over time and would continue to grow further in future.
Lieutenant General (Retd.) Javed Zia, while discussing the scope of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, said accelerated progress on the corridor would bring economic prosperity to both countries.
