ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) A special court for anti-narcotics has ordered the acquittal of an accused, Muhammad Tahib, in a drug case registered at ANF Police Station Rawalpindi, ruling that the prosecution failed to prove the charges beyond reasonable doubt.
Judge Dr. Abida Sajjad heard the case. Advocate Danial Akbar Khan appeared on behalf of the accused and argued that his client was arrested on mere suspicion and subsequently implicated in a false case.
He submitted that the accused had no connection with the alleged drugs.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The counsel further argued that the prosecution is bound to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt in drug-related cases, which it failed to do.
He also noted that the accused has no prior criminal record.
After hearing arguments, the court issued an order of acquittal.
It may be recalled that the accused was charged with smuggling 2.4 kilograms of hashish in case number 43/2024 registered at ANF Police Station Rawalpindi.
