FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) City Traffic Police (CTP) have assigned special duties to traffic wardens to ensure smooth traffic flow until Eid-ul-Fitr so that the citizens visiting markets for Eid shopping and offering Eid prayers do not face inconvenience during the festive days.
CTP spokesman said here Tuesday that on the special directives of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Nasir Javed Rana, necessary instructions had been issued to all sector incharges and circle DSPs to implement a comprehensive traffic management plan across the city.
He said that traffic wardens would perform duties with strict vigilance during the last days of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak in general and particularly on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr day. Besides regulating traffic, the wardens would also keep a close watch on surrounding security conditions to ensure public safety, he added.
He said that traffic wardens would be deployed at all major mosques, imambargahs, Eidgahs and recreational spots on Eid day to facilitate the worshippers and visitors while maintaining uninterrupted traffic flow on major roads and intersections.
Meanwhile, the City Traffic Police also launched a major crackdown against one-wheeling. During operation, the teams conducted raids at various locations including Canal Road and Express Highway and registered cases against 15 one-wheelers in a single day, he added.
He warned that one-wheeling was tantamount to risking one’s life as the dangerous practice had already caused the loss of many precious lives and turned several joyful homes into mourning. He urged the youth to avoid such risky stunts which they commit merely to gain temporary attention, as these could lead to lifelong disability or fatal accidents.
He also appealed to the parents not to allow their children to engage in one-wheeling, reckless driving or underage driving. The people should report incidents of one-wheeling on any road by calling the Traffic Helpline 1915 and strict action would be taken against the violators without any leniency and discrimination, he added.
