Special price magistrates appointed in Abbottabad to control prices during Ramadan

ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) The District Administration Tuesday has appointed Special Price Magistrates First Class across the district to ensure implementation of official price lists and provide relief to the public during the holy month of Ramazan.

The appointments have been made in light of directives issued by the Home Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the provincial government, under which a formal notification has been issued. The magistrates will perform their duties

from the first day until the end of Ramazan to maintain effective price control.

According to officials, the magistrates have been directed to conduct regular field visits, inspect markets, and take immediate legal action against violations. Strict action, including fines, sealing of premises, and other legal measures,

will be taken against hoarders, profiteers, and shopkeepers involved in overcharging.

The district administration said it is fully mobilized to ensure the availability of essential commodities and their supply

at government-notified prices to facilitate citizens during Ramazan
