SPGRC delegation calls on Governor Sindh

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Governor of Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi met a delegation of the Stranded Pakistani General Repatriation Committee (SPGRC), led by Haroon Rasheed, at the Governor House.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the issues faced by stranded Pakistanis living in Bangladesh and possible solutions to their long-standing challenges, said a communique issued here Sunday.

The delegation briefed the Governor on the social, economic and legal difficulties confronted by stranded Pakistanis and stressed the need for a comprehensive and sustainable approach to address their concerns.

The delegation also requested the formation of a negotiation committee comprising all relevant stakeholders to work towards a durable solution.

It further emphasized the importance of incorporating the views of stranded Pakistanis in policy formulation.

Governor Sindh Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi stated that dignified local resettlement of stranded Pakistanis in Bangladesh could be a viable and effective solution. He assured the delegation that the matter would be taken up at the relevant forums to ensure meaningful progress and relief for the affected individuals.

He reiterated that the government remained committed to addressing the issue through serious and sustained efforts aimed at a long-term resolution.
