Spring Festival brings message of hope, prosperity, & unity to the world: Rashid Safi

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) The Chinese Lunar New Year, traditionally marked as the Spring Festival, carries a universal message of hope, prosperity, and solidarity and its celebration is emerging as a meaningful avenue to deepen Pakistan-China friendship and strengthen people-to-people ties across borders.

Talking to APP on Wednesday, senior journalist and expert on international and Chinese affairs, Rashid Safi, said that according to the Chinese lunar Calendar, the new year is associated with the “Horse,” which symbolizes determination, perseverance, struggle, and speed.

He added that such festivals reinforce cultural harmony, friendship, and the shared commitment to development.

According to Rashid Safi, the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China is not limited to economic cooperation; rather, it is based on people-to-people connections, cultural exchanges, and a shared vision of prosperity.

He said China’s global development and policy of openness—particularly its initiatives to promote sustainable investment and regional connectivity—are creating new opportunities for Pakistan and expanding economic cooperation between the two countries.

He expressed hope that enhanced friendship, cultural exchanges, and economic partnership between the two countries would usher in a new era of development and stability in the region.
