SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 16th Jun, 2026) High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Pakistan Rear Admiral Fred Senevirathene (Rtd) visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and held an interactive meeting with members of the local business community to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

The distinguished guest was warmly welcomed by President SCCI Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, Senior Vice

President Muhammad Murad Arshad, Vice President Salman Sheikh, along with SCCI executive committee members.

During the meeting, both sides engaged in productive discussions on strengthening trade and investment relations between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Key areas of focus included promoting business-to-business partnerships, increasing participation in international trade exhibitions, addressing issues related to export duties and taxation, and improving visa facilitation for business travelers.

The Sri Lankan High Commissioner emphasized the importance of closer commercial ties between the two countries and highlighted upcoming trade exhibitions and business events in Sri Lanka.
