Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sameer Noor Channa, in a major disciplinary action, has dismissed a police official from service over his involvement in facilitating drug dealers, reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within the department

NAWABSHAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th May, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sameer Noor Channa, in a major disciplinary action, has dismissed a police official from service over his involvement in facilitating drug dealers, reaffirming a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within the department.

According to a police spokesperson, the dismissed officer, Zafar Ali Zardari, was found guilty after an inquiry established his role in supporting narcotics traffickers. Following the findings, he was immediately removed from his position. SSP said that strict action would continue against corrupt elements within the police force who damage the institution’s reputation by aiding criminal elements.

He emphasized that any official found assisting criminals, particularly those involved in drug trafficking, would face both departmental and legal consequences.

Earlier, five police personnel, including a head muharrar, were dismissed on similar charges of misconduct and negligence.

The SSP reiterated that narcotics pose a serious threat to society and that police department is committed to eliminating internal corruption to ensure protection of citizens’ lives and property.
