SSP Investigation reviews 10th Muharram procession security in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Jun, 2026) Senior Superintendent of Police SSP Investigation Nasir Ali Khan on Thursday visited the procession route of 10th Muharram in the RA Bazaar and Race Course areas to review security arrangements.

During the visit, he was accompanied by the DSP Cantt, Station House Officers (SHOs) and other police officials.

The SSP directed SHOs to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the Ashura procession.

He said that all streets and adjoining lanes along the procession route will be completely sealed to maintain security.

Participants will only be allowed entry after thorough body searches and scanning through walk-through gates.

Senior officers will also brief deployed personnel from time to time to ensure effective monitoring and readiness throughout the procession.

Nasir Ali Khan said that the protection of citizens’ lives and property is the police’s top priority, adding that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure effective security during the procession.

He reiterated that comprehensive arrangements are in place for the security of Ashura processions in Rawalpindi.
