Stagnating drainage affecting Hyderabad's industrial zone, Ghangra

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Jun, 2026) The Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry (HSATI) on Sunday expressed concern over the drainage problems in the Hyderabad SITE area.

The association's Chairman Zubair Ghangra pointed out that due to the dysfunctional state of Darya Khan drainage pumping station near Nara Jail, wastewater was accumulating on the industrial zone's roads.

"The high water level in the canals of Kotri barrage was also stopping the flow of industrial wastewater in the canals," he underlined.

He claimed that stangnating drainage was affecting the industries and needed an immediate solution.

According to him, from the delivery of raw materials to departure of finished products and movement of workers were all being severely affected.

The Chairman SITE Association requested the Commissioner Hyderabad, Mayor Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad and Managing Director of SITE limited to immediately activate the Darya Khan pumping station.
