QUETTA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th Apr, 2026) Standing Committee of the Balochistan Provincial Assembly on S&GAD Department and Law and Parliamentary Affairs’s Chairman Zafar Ali Agha chaired a meeting in the committee room of the assembly on Monday.
The meeting was attended by members of the assembly Hadiya Nawaz, Ravi Pahuja and Shahida Rauf, while Secretary Assembly Tahir Shah Kakar and relevant officials of the S&GAD Department, Law Department and the provincial assembly were also present.
The meeting considered four different draft laws sent to the committee. The amendment draft law of the Balochistan Judicial academy was discussed in detail.
The committee decided to defer this draft law until the next meeting for further consideration.
After this, the Balochistan Service Tribunal (Amendment) Bill 2026 came under consideration.
The meeting was informed that the Balochistan Service Tribunal was established under Article 212 of the Constitution of Pakistan, 1973, through the Balochistan Service Tribunals Act, 1974.
However, no rules have been framed to determine the terms and conditions of appointments and employees in the Tribunal, nor has any competent authority been empowered to make such rules in the existing law.
In this context, the proposed amendment bill was placed before the committee. After detailed consideration, the committee recommended finalizing the bill and sending it to the House for approval.
The draft bill related to the Balochistan Public Service Commission was also discussed, however, it was deferred to the next session for further consideration.
Similarly, a preliminary discussion was held on the Civil Procedure (Balochistan Amendment) Bill. Three out of the four draft bills were deferred to the next sessions for further consideration, while the Balochistan Service Tribunals (Amendment) Bill, 2026, was recommended to be finalized and sent to the House for approval.
