Storm leaves boy dead, 5 injured

NOWSHERA VIRKAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th May, 2026) A powerful windstorm swept through Nowshera Virkan and surrounding areas , killing an eight-year-old boy and injuring five others, according to Rescue 1122 officials.

They said the child was killed in Village, Karlke after the roof of a house collapsed during the storm, adding two other people were injured in the incident.

The strong winds also uprooted numerous large trees and ripped solar panels from rooftops across the area.

In Village, Khan Musalman , a man identified as Tasawur was injured after falling from a roof while attempting to hold down solar panels during the storm.

Meanwhile, two teenage siblings were hurt in Dera Gujran area when another roof collapsed, the official added.

The electricity supply was suspended across all feeders in Nowshera Virkan following the severe weather.

The Rescue 1122 said the collapse in Karlke occurred when part of a weakened wall from a neighbouring elevated house fell onto the affected home, causing its deteriorating roof structure to cave in.

At the time of the incident, the two children of Muhammad Fayyaz were inside the room, while other family members had gone outside to check on their livestock.

The Officials said Fayyaz was also injured after entering the collapsed structure in an attempt to rescue his children.

According to rescue sources, Ahmad 8 yeas, son of Muhammad Fayyaz, died at the scene after suffering severe head injuries.

The injured — identified as Muhammad Fayyaz 45 and Falak Sher 15 years old were given first aid by Rescue 1122 personnel before being transferred to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Nowshera Virkan.
