MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Under the directives of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Noman Siddique, the district administration has expanded transport fare inspections ahead of Eidul Fitr to provide relief to citizens.
From March 01 to 17, the Regional Transport Authority checked 1,400 vehicles. Action was taken against 214 vehicles involved in overcharging, and 72 vehicles violating fare rules were impounded.
A total fine of Rs 183,000 was imposed.
During the operations, 551 passengers were refunded a total of Rs 58,900 for excess fares.
The deputy commissioner, emphasized that transport operations and fuel availability remain fully maintained.
He stated that strict monitoring will continue during Eid, and overcharging or overloading violations will be dealt with without exception. Citizens’ relief remains the district administration’s top priority, he added.
