ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Apr, 2026) Emphasizing that the strength of Pakistan lies in the stability of its federation, Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid Thursday urged young people to take an active role in promoting national unity and institutional stability, calling them the driving force behind the country’s future progress.

She expressed these views while addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the Federal Youth Parliament, where she attended as chief guest and administered the oath to the newly elected office bearers.

Addressing the ceremony, Senator Rubina Khalid stated that a strong federation is the foundation of a strong Pakistan, and when the federation is stable, all its constituent units are strengthened as well.

She urged the youth to play an active role in promoting national unity and institutional stability.

She also addressed misconceptions surrounding the Benazir Income Support Programme, highlighting that it is one of the country’s largest social protection initiatives, currently benefiting over 10 million families.

In her speech, Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized that bringing youth into leadership roles is a pressing need of the time.

She stated that young people hold a pivotal role in Pakistan’s development, and their potential can drive the country toward progress and prosperity.

She further stated that the Federal Youth Parliament should reflect federal policies and contribute meaningfully to strengthening Pakistan.

According to her, it serves as an excellent platform to nurture young talent and prepare future leaders.

Senator Rubina Khalid added that the government is taking practical steps to empower youth by providing them with opportunities through various initiatives. She reiterated that the Benazir Income Support Programme embodies the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, supporting vulnerable segments of society while also promoting human development.

She stressed that education, awareness, and leadership are the cornerstones of youth success.

BISP, she said, is not only delivering social protection but is also actively contributing to broader human development goals.

Senator Rubina Khalid concluded by stating that empowering women and youth economically remains a top government priority.
