Students urged to reject drugs and focus on education for protecting society

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) Experts urged students to stay away from narcotics, focus wholeheartedly on their studies and play an active role in protecting society from the menace of drug abuse.

They were addressing an awareness seminar organized at University of Agriculture Faisalabad by Anti-Narcotics Association Allied Hospital-II as part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness among young people about the harmful effects of drugs on individuals, families and society.

Addressing the participants, Professor Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, General Secretary Madam Amina Akram, Dr. Naeema Nawaz and Afzal Jalandhari highlighted the devastating physical, psychological and social consequences of drug addiction.

They said that narcotics not only destroy human health but also adversely affect educational performance, family life and social stability.

The experts advised the students to devote their energies to acquiring knowledge and building successful careers.

They stressed that young people should not only protect themselves from drug abuse but also encourage their relatives, friends and community members to remain vigilant and avoid all forms of intoxicating substances.

They said that awareness and collective social responsibility were essential to combating the growing challenge of narcotics and ensuring a healthy future for the younger generation.

The participants were informed that the Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) was actively working to eliminate drug trafficking networks and take legal action against those involved in the illegal drug trade.

The speakers added that a rehabilitation ward had also been established at Allied Hospital-II to provide treatment and support to individuals seeking recovery from addiction.

During the interactive session, students raised various questions regarding drug prevention, rehabilitation services and the role of educational institutions in creating awareness.

The experts responded in detail and emphasized the importance of timely guidance, counseling and community engagement in preventing substance abuse.
