SU, ANF join hands to raise awareness against drug abuse

HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2026) Sindh University's Bureau of STAGS in collaboration with the Department of International Relations organized an anti-drug awareness session at Nelson Mandela Hall in partnership with the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday.

The awareness session focused on educating students and the wider public about the harmful physical, social and psychological impacts of drug abuse, which speakers described as an alarming challenge facing the country, particularly educational institutions.

Addressing the participants, in-charge of the ANF Rehabilitation Center Hyderabad Dr Shahriyar Qambrani stressed the need for collective efforts to curb the growing menace of narcotics.

They said the Anti-Narcotics Force was actively working to tackle the issue, but meaningful progress required strong cooperation from universities and academic institutions through regular awareness campaigns and student engagement programs.

ANF Hyderabad Additional SHO Siddique Ahmed urged students to remain vigilant, avoid harmful influences and play their role in promoting a drug-free society.

At the conclusion of the session, Chairperson of the Department of International Relations Professor Dr Ishrat Afshan Abbasi and Director STAGS Ajved Bhatti thanked the ANF officials for conducting the informative session.
