SU cuts fuel allocation by 50% under austerity measures

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) The University of Sindh (SU) has announced a 50 per cent reduction in fuel provision for all its official vehicles from April 1, in compliance with austerity measures introduced by the Government of Sindh and the Government of Pakistan.

The SU spokesperson said a notification in this connection has been issued by the registrar on Wednesday, the decision followed directives aimed at curbing expenditures. However, vehicles and motorbikes engaged in essential services have been exempted from the reduction until further orders.
