HYDERABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) The University of Sindh has launched a renewed drive to improve the quality of higher education across its affiliated government colleges, with Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Fateh Muhammad Mari (TI) calling for stronger academic governance, modern teaching facilities, timely examinations and greater coordination between the university and colleges.
Chairing a high-level meeting of principals of affiliated government colleges at his office on Thursday, Dr Mari reviewed the academic performance of colleges, discussed challenges confronting higher education and outlined a comprehensive roadmap aimed at enhancing the quality of teaching, learning and student services.
According to the SU spokesperson, the SU Registrar Sajid Qayoom Memon, Director Colleges Muhammad Mashooque Siddiqui, Controller of Annual Examinations Ahsanullah Shah Rashdi and principals of various affiliated government colleges attended the meeting.
During the meeting, participants held detailed discussions on admissions, the smooth conduct of annual examinations, academic discipline, infrastructure development and measures to strengthen coordination between the university and its affiliated colleges. The principals also shared their institutional experiences, achievements and challenges, while emphasizing the need for continuous support from the university to improve educational outcomes.
The participants unanimously agreed to work in close collaboration in the future to uplift the standard of college education and ensure that students studying in affiliated institutions receive quality education comparable to that offered at leading higher education institutions.

Expressing concern over inadequate laboratory facilities in some colleges, the VC directed all principals to assess their existing scientific infrastructure and take immediate steps to procure essential laboratory equipment, establish standardized laboratories and modernize practical learning facilities.
The Vice-Chancellor also underscored the importance of strengthening college libraries, asking principals to enrich them with updated textbooks, reference materials, research publications and digital learning resources.
He directed Director Colleges Muhammad Mashooque Siddiqui to maintain close coordination with all affiliated colleges and facilitate the organization of inter-college sports competitions and other student activities to promote a healthy educational environment.
The meeting also reviewed admission-related matters and emphasized the need to streamline admission procedures, strengthen student guidance and ensure that examinations are conducted according to the prescribed academic Calendar without unnecessary delays.
