MAKKAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jun, 2026) Following the successful conclusion of the Hajj rituals, Saudi Arabia's cutting-edge smart digital platform, "Ruaa," played a pivotal role in ensuring security and streamlined crowd management through the deployment of over 2,000 satellite images and 126 aerial monitoring operations across the Holy Sites.
Developed by the King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Public Security, the platform integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI), remote sensing, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to provide real-time surveillance and accelerate emergency response times throughout Makkah and Madinah.
During the peak days of the pilgrimage, the fully automated system successfully tracked high-density crowd movements and traffic flow to prevent bottlenecks.

In addition to security oversight, "Ruaa" provided advanced thermal mapping to analyze ground surface temperatures and monitor "heat islands." This comprehensive environmental data enabled administrative teams to implement immediate counter-heat measures, ensuring the safety and well-being of the Guests of Allah amid challenging weather conditions.
Directly linked to the central Command and Control Center of Public Security, the platform's interactive interface maintained continuous data flow to field teams, marking a major technological success in executing a safe, secure, and highly organized Hajj season.
