Sukkur Commissioner & DC Khairpur Visits GIMS Hospital, Review HIV Care Facilities

SUKKUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Sukkur Abid Saleem Qureshi and Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Altaf Ahmed Chachar visited the Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) Hospital and met with Director GIMS Dr. Rahim Bakhsh Bhatti at his office on Monday.

During the meeting, the officials held detailed discussions on the care and management of HIV patients at the hospital. Both the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner lauded the HIV diagnostic services and the dedicated wards established for patients at GIMS.

Following the directives of the GIMS Director, they also appreciated the sincere and cooperative attitude of the hospital’s medical staff toward patients, as well as the facilities provided for their treatment and comfort.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Sukkur Abid Saleem Qureshi announced that an ART Center would be established soon at GIMS Hospital to provide state-of-the-art facilities for HIV patients.

The visit highlighted the provincial administration’s focus on strengthening specialized healthcare services for vulnerable patient groups in northern Sindh.
