Suspect killed in crossfire

BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Apr, 2026) A suspect was killed in crossfire on the National Highway in the city suburbs.

According to an official press release issued by the Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) here, police informed the rescue staff that during patrolling, the police stopped two suspicious individuals riding a motorcycle.

“The suspects opened fire on the police, and during the exchange, one of them was killed by the firing of his own accomplice,” the police said, adding that while the other managed to escape.

“Drugs and illegal weapons were recovered from the deceased,” the police added. The rescue staff shifted the dead body to BVH in the presence of the police. The deceased was identified as 40-years-old, Saleem, son of Manzoor, a resident of Muzaffargarh.
