Suspected robber arrested in injured condition, 5 stolen bikes recovered from lifter

HYDERABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Mar, 2026) A suspected robber was shot and injured before being arrested in a police encounter occurring in the limits of Baldia police station here on Saturday.The police spokesman Inspector Shahid Usman informed that a mobile van of PS Baldia was patrolling in its jurisdiction when they spotted 3 suspects riding on a motorbike and signalled them to stop for checking.He claimed that the suspects opened fire on the cops in a bid to escape but one of them, later identified as Adnan Pathan, was hit by a bullet in his leg and fell on the ground.According to him, the 2 other suspects managed to escape.The spokesman alleged that Adnan was part of a gang of robbers which had recently committed some crimes in the city.

He was shifted to Liaquat University Hospital for surgery of his gunshot wound.Separately, the Market police station rounded up a suspected motorbike lifter and recovered 5 stolen and snatched bikes from his possession, the inspector told.He said a police team led by SHO Muneer Ahmed Abbassi raided the parking of Bhurgari flats and arrested Mehtab Jatoi from the spot.The spokesman said the police recovered one bike from the same parking lot while the suspect led the cops to different locations from where 4 more motorbikes were recovered.
