Presiding over a meeting, she reviewed progress on ‘Suthra Punjab’ drive while deputy commissioners of all four districts participated in it through video link.

The commissioner directed that along with urban localities, a “one day, one union council” deep cleaning operation should be carried out regularly in rural areas to improve sanitation standards at the grassroots level.

She emphasized the need for physical verification of machinery and human resources, ensuring adequate placement of waste bins in urban areas, timely clearance of garbage and strict implementation of door-to-door waste collection.

Highlighting the importance of maintaining cleanliness on roads, she ordered that scraping of dividers should continue on permanent basis and a comprehensive plan should be devised immediately for desilting operations.

She also stressed community engagement through formation of committees and wide publicity of relevant contact numbers for public facilitation.

She underscored the need to further strengthen the monitoring system and directed that complaints related to sanitation must be addressed promptly on a priority basis.

Managing Director (MD) Suthra Punjab Agency (SPA) and CEO Faisalabad Waste Management Company (FWMC) Abid Hussain Bhatti gave a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing operations and monitoring mechanisms.

He informed that a modern digital monitoring system had been introduced across all four districts of the division.

The system includes facial recognition, GPS tracking, AI-based monitoring, and complaint redressal mechanisms through helpline 1139, WhatsApp number 0300-0191139, and a dedicated mobile application, he added.

He said that live tracking of vehicles was being monitored in all tehsils while strict real-time monitoring of digital weighbridges had been initiated at landfill sites.
