RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Sona Welfare Foundation (SWF), the implementing partner of Fauji Fertiliser Company (FFC), has launched two major education and health initiatives worth Rs 236 million to support underserved communities across Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

According to the FFC spokesperson, the programmes introduced on April 29 include the Integrated Health, Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education Initiative in partnership with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), and the OTF x SWF Scholarship Programme in collaboration with OTF.

The launch event was attended by the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FFC, Jahangir Piracha; the Chief Executive Officer of PPAF, Nadir Barech; the Chief Executive Officer of Global OTF, Omer Mateen Allahwala; and senior representatives of partner organisations.

Speaking at the event, Chief Operating Officer of SWF, Air Commodore (retd) Syed Farooq Ahmed Bokhari, said the initiatives reflected a commitment to community development and inclusive growth.

“No business is successful if the community around it fails,” he said, adding that the investment would help young people break the cycle of poverty by improving access to education and essential health services.

He said the programmes aimed to promote academic excellence, strengthen healthcare delivery and contribute to building a more resilient and self-reliant society.

Farooq said the initiatives underscored a shared commitment by SWF and its partners to advancing sustainable development and socio-economic uplift in rural and semi-urban areas.

He said the scholarship scheme would offer fully funded higher education opportunities to students from the three provinces, enabling them to pursue degrees at universities of their choice, while the health initiative aims to expand access to specialised healthcare and rehabilitation services.
