SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th May, 2026) The Sialkot Waste Management Company (SWMC) on Saturday successfully completed its Eid-ul-Adha cleanliness operation, disposing of more than 16,000 tons of sacrificial animal remains across the district, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali.
According to a press release, over 5,500 sanitation workers remained on duty during the three days of Eid to collect and dispose of animal waste.
A total of 16,394 tons of remains were transported to designated disposal sites in the four tehsils of Sialkot, Pasrur, Sambrial and Daska.
The DC accompanied by SWMC Chief Executive Officer Abdul Razzaq Dogar,Communication Manager Fahad Javed and other officials visited various areas of the district following the completion of the operation.
She said roads and public places were cleaned and washed with phenyl and rose water to maintain a hygienic environment while lime was spread at multiple locations to help protect residents from germs and diseases.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Officials said 5,260 regular sanitation workers and 295 additional workers participated in the operation.
Prior to Eid,304,887 waste bags were distributed among residents, while more than 1,630 vehicles were deployed for the collection and disposal of animal remains.
During the campaign,3,100 liters of rose water, 11,146 liters of phenyl and 96,250 kilograms of lime were used to clean roads, collection points and public areas.
The district administration said cleaning of streets,neighborhoods and markets was continuing to ensure a clean environment for citizens.
It added that the operation was carried out in line with the objectives of the Clean Punjab Program.
