Tahir Ashrafi voices hope on Iran–US progress, urges unity and prays for lasting peace

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Renowned Islamic scholar and Chairman Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi on Saturday expressed hope for better results in Iran–US relations and said Pakistan was becoming a center of global attention, urging the world to show unity while praying for an end to war and successful peace talks.

Talking to media ahead of the upcoming Iran–US negotiation roundtable, hosted through the efforts of Pakistani leadership, Chairman Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi expressed hope for positive progress in dialogue between the two sides.

He noted that Pakistan’s role in bringing both parties to the table reflected its growing diplomatic importance and the trust it commands on the global stage.

Ashrafi emphasized that islam encouraged reconciliation between conflicting parties, urging that efforts be made to resolve disputes through dialogue rather than conflict.

He highlighted Pakistan’s remarkable role in promoting peace, not only among Islamic countries but also in helping reduce tensions at a broader international level, adding that the world’s attention was now focused on Pakistan’s constructive engagement.

He stated that despite the challenges, Pakistan has successfully facilitated a difficult but crucial step by bringing both sides together, expressing optimism that the talks would yield successful outcomes.

He further said such progress would not only benefit the concerned parties but also contribute positively to regional stability, Pakistan’s economy and its relations with neighboring Islamic countries.

Concluding his remarks, Ashrafi appealed to people to pray for successful negotiations and lasting peace, asking Allah to bring better results and ensure harmony and stability across the world.
