Tando Adam Municipal Committee has presented its budget for the financial year 2026-27 with a total outlay of Rs1.203 billion, allocating Rs336.2 million for new and ongoing development projects

SANGHAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) Tando Adam Municipal Committee has presented its budget for the financial year 2026-27 with a total outlay of Rs1.203 billion, allocating Rs336.2 million for new and ongoing development projects.

Presenting the budget, Chairman Tando Adam Municipal Committee Ghulam Murtaza Junejo said that Tando Adam was one of the major commercial and densely populated cities of Sanghar district, and improving civic facilities and completing development schemes remained the top priorities of the municipal administration.

He said that Rs529.25 million had been allocated for salaries and pension payments of employees, including the recent increase in salaries announced by the government. An amount of Rs337.955 million had been earmarked for administrative, emergency and miscellaneous expenditures.

According to the budget documents, Rs106.2 million were allocated for new development schemes, while Rs230 million were set aside for ongoing development projects. The budget also showed an estimated saving of Rs60,000.

The chairman informed the council members that Rs3 million were deducted every month from government-provided funds for payment of electricity bills. He added that more development schemes would be launched after the availability of additional government funds to enhance the beauty of the city and improve municipal services.

He said that during the previous financial year, work had started on the long-awaited Joharabad Bangla Road project, while the renovation of the dilapidated Municipal Council Hall had been completed and council meetings were now being held there. He added that repair and reconstruction work of the old municipal building and construction of the boundary wall of Gulshan Siddiqui Municipal Park were also in progress.

The chairman said funds had also been allocated for repair and construction of municipal offices and other buildings, employees’ gratuity, emergency expenditures, financial assistance for employees suffering from serious diseases, support for families of employees who died during service, the Safe City project, Press Club grant, Urs committee and Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) celebrations.

At the conclusion of his address, Chairman Junejo thanked all council members, officers and staff and sought approval of the budget, expressing his resolve that the municipal committee would continue its efforts to provide better civic facilities and promote the development of the city.

Earlier, the new municipal building was inaugurated jointly by former senator Malik Imamuddin Shoqeen and Chairman Ghulam Murtaza Junejo.
