Tank police finalize Muharram security plan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) The Tank police have stepped up preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram, with senior officers holding separate meetings to review security arrangements, administrative matters and policing strategies aimed at ensuring peace and order throughout the district.

In this regard, DSP City Kashif Sattar chaired a meeting at his office on Friday. The meeting was attended by SHO City Police Station Sher Afzal Khan Kundi, Line Officer Ibrahim Khan, officials from the District Special Branch, wireless control staff and other police personnel. The meeting focused on security measures for Muharram processions, Imambargahs and other sensitive locations.

During the session, the DSP directed officers to complete timely security audits of procession routes, Imambargahs and vulnerable sites. He also emphasized maintaining close coordination with caretakers of religious institutions, scholars and local elders to further strengthen the security plan through community input.

Kashif Sattar instructed police officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements and utilize all available resources to safeguard the lives and property of citizens.

He further directed personnel to remain fully alert during duty, maintain effective communication and avoid any negligence in the performance of their responsibilities.

Separately, DSP Rural Haji Kifayatullah Khan Mastikhel presided over a meeting with station clerks from Police Station Gul Imam, Police Station Mulazai and police posts in Gul Imam and Nasran. The meeting was held following the directives of DPO Tank Abdul Samad Khan. The meeting reviewed record management, administrative affairs, cleanliness standards and overall functioning of police stations and posts.

The DSP Rural instructed officials to ensure timely and accurate maintenance of records, uphold discipline and improve public service standards. Special attention was also given to security preparations for Muharram, with clear directives issued regarding deployment plans and preventive measures to maintain law and order.

Both officers reaffirmed the commitment of Tank Police to ensuring a peaceful Muharram through effective security planning, strict vigilance and coordinated policing efforts across the district.
