ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Jun, 2026) Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar on Saturday urged the opposition to actively and constructively participate in the ongoing budget session, describing it as the most important parliamentary exercise.

Speaking in the National Assembly, he said political and parliamentary issues should be resolved through engagement, adding that the government remained open to constructive dialogue.

Referring to the budget session, he stressed that participation from all sides in a positive manner was essential and noted that it had already been agreed that members would remain engaged throughout the session and contribute meaningfully.

Azam Tarar said officials from the Ministry of Finance were recording and noting all speeches and inputs, which were being reviewed daily, so that lawmakers’ concerns could be considered before finalising budget proposals.

He also urged both opposition and treasury benches to avoid non-serious behaviour, saying that serious debate and criticism could help improve governance and fiscal decision-making.

Responding to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the minister said that after convictions, several matters are now regulated under court orders, while issues related to the PTI founder are pending before the courts.

Regarding meetings with the PTI founder, he said the PTI chairman and senior lawyer Latif Khosa were already aware of the situation, adding that some matters are judicial in nature.

He added that issues such as release and meeting access are sub judice and are being heard in the Islamabad High Court, where appeals remain pending.
