Targeted subsidy relief for public to be delivered in upcoming budget: Shumaila Rana says

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 31st May, 2026) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Shumaila Rana, speaking on Sunday, said that the law applies equally to all political parties to citizens and expressed hope that the upcoming budget will be presented in line with national expectations, featuring targeted subsidy plans aimed at public relief and economic stability.

While speaking to a local news channel, she said that PML-N led government has already taken prudent steps to stabilize the economy and steer it in the right direction.

She added that these measures are now beginning to show results, with improved economic indicators and strengthened fiscal management reflecting the impact of the policies.

She further stated that the upcoming budget is expected to meet public expectations, focusing on targeted subsidy measures aimed at providing relief to the people.

She mentioned that the Prime Minister has already taken austerity measures, including cuts in the salaries and privileges of officials, to reduce government expenditure and redirect resources toward public welfare.

She further said that despite these tough decisions, transporters and farmers are already receiving relief, and reaffirmed that more supportive measures will continue to be introduced for the benefit of the people.

Responding to a query about NOC requirements in Gilgit-Baltistan for political parties, she stated that due to prevailing security concerns and constitutional provisions, it is mandatory for all political parties to notify the district administration prior to organizing any public gathering or political activity.

She further clarified that adherence to legal procedures is essential for maintaining order and warned that any violation of these rules will invite action, as the law is enforced equally across the board without discrimination.

She concluded by emphasizing that obtaining prior NOC from the district administration is essential for all political gatherings and public activities, ensuring security, order and full compliance with the law.
