WAH CANTT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) A local court in Taxila on Tuesday awarded prison terms and fines to two convicted drug peddlers in separate narcotics cases registered by Taxila Police as part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.
Police officials said convict Sami-ud-Din was sentenced to one year imprisonment along with a fine of Rs30,000 after being found guilty in a narcotics case. He had been arrested in May 2025 after police allegedly recovered 1.460 kilograms of hashish from his possession during an operation conducted by Taxila Police.
In another case, the court sentenced Samiullah to one year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs30,000 after he was convicted in a separate drug trafficking case.

Police authorities stated that the convictions were secured on the basis of strong evidence, thorough investigation, and effective prosecution. Officials described the court verdicts as an encouraging development in the campaign against narcotics and reiterated their commitment to taking strict legal action against individuals involved in drug-related offences.
