Taylor Swift confirms song for 'Toy Story 5'

Pop superstar Taylor Swift has confirmed that she has written an original song for Disney and Pixar's upcoming film 'Toy Story 5', ending weeks of speculation among fans over her involvement in the project.

In a post on X on Monday, Swift announced that her new song, 'I Knew It, I Knew You', will be released on June 5. The 14-time Grammy Award winner said she had "adored" the characters of the 'Toy Story' franchise since the first film debuted in 1995.

The announcement follows a week of intense online speculation after a countdown timer appeared on Swift's official website against a background resembling the wallpaper from the bedroom of Andy, the young protagonist in the original 'Toy Story' film.

Fans also pointed to animated imagery on Swift's website featuring billboards marked with the initials "TS" and the character Jessie from the animated franchise. The countdown, set to expire on June 1, fuelled widespread discussion across social media platforms.

Additional excitement was generated after billboards carrying the same background design and the initials "TS" appeared in major cities in several countries, prompting theories about a collaboration between Swift and Pixar.

According to Disney and Pixar, 'Toy Story 5' is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on June 17. The film reunites iconic characters Woody, Buzz Lightyear and their fellow toys as they confront challenges posed by modern technology, particularly a tablet device competing for children's attention.

Alongside the film-related speculation, some fans also linked recent social media activity by Disney+ to rumours of a broader collaboration with Swift. Online discussions suggested the possibility of the streaming platform hosting recordings of her previous concert tours, although no official announcement has been made.
