TDCP launches tree plantation drive at Patriata to boost environment, tourism

RAWALPINDI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st Apr, 2026) A tree plantation campaign has been formally launched at Patriata Resort under the management of the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP).

The initiative, undertaken on the instructions of the Managing Director of TDCP, aims to curb environmental pollution while preserving the natural beauty of Murree, a major tourist destination.

Regional Manager Patriata Chairlift, Mian Moazzam Nazir, said tree plantation was not only essential for environmental improvement but also a valuable investment for future generations. He added that it was a collective responsibility to take part in such initiatives to protect the environment.

Resort management and staff took part in the drive, planting a variety of saplings and pledging to continue the effort regularly to make the area greener and more vibrant.

Nazir said TDCP had consistently remained at the forefront of environmental efforts and would continue similar initiatives in the future. He stressed that maintaining the natural beauty of destinations like Murree was a shared duty, with tree plantation playing a key role.

Environmental experts say such campaigns help mitigate the impacts of climate change and contribute to the promotion of tourism.

Members of the public have welcomed the initiative and expressed hope that other institutions will follow suit to advance environmentally friendly practices across the country.
