ATTOCK, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Mar, 2026) In two tragic yet avoidable road accidents, one teenager was killed and seven others were injured—two of them critically—in different parts of Attock on Thursday, according to police and rescue sources. The incidents, meanwhile, have once again highlighted the growing concern over reckless driving; therefore, authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution. Consequently, emergency teams responded promptly and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals.
In the first incident, a 17-year-old motorcyclist, Muhammad Hassan, was killed on the spot when a truck, reportedly taking a sudden U-turn on GT Road near Cadet College within the jurisdiction of Hassanabdal Police Station, rammed into two motorcycles. As a result, two other persons riding another bike were critically injured. However, the truck driver initially managed to flee the scene; nevertheless, he was later intercepted by local residents and handed over to police for legal action.
In a separate accident, five people were injured in a multi-vehicle pileup on the Rawalpindi–Kohat Road within the limits of Jand Police Station. According to police sources, a passenger van collided with a rickshaw near a local college; moreover, a Suzuki van subsequently crashed into the already damaged vehicles. Meanwhile, a speeding motorcyclist lost control and hit the wreckage, further worsening the situation. As a result, five individuals, including three rickshaw passengers sustained injuries.
All injured were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital for treatment, where two were reported to be in critical condition. Furthermore, police have registered separate cases; in addition, investigations are underway to determine the exact causes of both accidents. Authorities have reiterated their resolve to enforce traffic laws strictly to prevent such incidents in the future.
